Heartland Residential Care believes that every person should be given the opportunity and assistance to schedule their day and their lives. People should explore new places in the community and activities in the home. A day should be satisfying, joyful, and with a trajectory aimed to help people grow.

Heartland Residential Care believes people should have control and choice in their life trajectory. We believe in teaching and modeling self-advocacy. People should be given opportunity and encouragement to pursue and obtain their hopes and dreams.

Building Relationships

Heartland Residential Care believes that building relationships is an integral part of success for a person to grow to their fullest potential. Staff members should build positive relationships with the people they support. Likewise we should foster people to build relationships with their family, neighbors, peers, co-workers, church, and other natural supports.

Our Story

Heartland Residential Care was founded by Dale Hallman, LCSW, in 1992. Heartland started with one picturesque, countryside home in Liberty, MO where children with developmental disabilities were provided the highest quality of care. Many of those children are still with Heartland and have grown with Heartland into adulthood. While Heartland started with supporting children, we support all age ranges and individuals who require varying levels of supports. Dale believed that the wonderful individuals Heartland supported should have a beautiful home, opportunity for growth, and the highest quality of care by warm and cheerful caregivers.
